in documenta 2 in Kassel and special honours at the Paris Biennale. |

With her technique of saturating raw, untreated canvas with thinned paint, Frankenthaler created free, lyrical improvisations which had a decisive influence on the works of Kenneth Noland and Morris Louis. |
