- description of the installation 'humanity eclipsed' -

i was influenced by the 'peace situation' we achieved in our world at the end of 1999 on the step into a new millennium and by the eclipse at august 11th 1999,
11:11:11 over europe.

mankind have had the chance to go hand in hand with each other into a new and peacefully future
but they did not ...

image: 'past - stonehenge'

top left: past - stonehenge

stonehenge my old mystic favourite. for me it is the symbol of one of the first intellectual
measurements of repeating events in time. a measurement to preview the
summer solstice and the eclipse. symbol of awakening of the mankind.

installation in 5 parts - 'unity - ethnical'

bottom left: unity - ethnical

my personal eclipse. after the bombing events here in london (brixton, soho
and spittalfield). i used surgeon thread to sew the representational colours of
nationalities together. let us reach our hands and walk into the new millennium what ever colour we are.

installation in 5 parts - 'present - violence'

middle: present - violence

the sun is eclipsed by the darkness of violence. clouds of smoke from bombing.
bombs are not the solution to bring peace to suffering civilians. not even to enemies, too. I used holographic foil to depict the stealth fighters. as a symbol of eclipsed 'hi-tech'.

installation in 5 parts - 'time - eclipsed'

bottom right: time - eclipsed

time is moving forward. time is a measurement for the last step and the next step. the moon eclipses the view to the sun - our ruler of time and the power of life. but time is nothing. it is only a manmade technical term of an existing cycle in nature.

installation in 5 parts - 'future - hope'

top right: the right for future - the right for hope

everybody believes in future. future is hope - measured at the experience of the past. our children are our future - our children are our hope.
the new millennium gives us the chance to change. let us all take this challenge. I painted this picture with my fingers.

when i finished painting i started to cry ..........
