my own note:
I have seen the exhibition at the very opening day on the 14th of February 2002 in New
York (having had myself an exhibition at the Broadway) and it was really overwhelming.
For the first time I could see (and visually 'dive' into) soooo much of Richter's work at
once and as original artworks. Studying his paitings painstakingly draw the attention of
the security personell and they kept an eye on me until i left very late in the evening.
The absolute high-light for me was the room with the 3 paintings: November, December,
January - the sheer scale of images (each one 320 x 400 cm !!!) and the allover impact
on me put straight forward tears into my eyes. People must have thought i went nuts!
At the MoMa bookshop I met an artist from Israel and we decided to break all our brushes
apart as homage to this great artist.
The exhibition was for me a lifetime experience!
